About Me

Hello! I am Allison Simone, a 20-somethings photographer located in Atlanta, GA.

I really don't remember when I actually started to like taking pictures, because I've enjoyed it for as long as I can remember! I got my first camera when I was about 6 years old. It was one of those plastic film cameras just for kids. It was blue with two eye pieces, and two handles on either side of the body! I remember taking it with me and taking pictures everywhere I went!

My next camera was a fixed 35mm Kodak camera, that I got when I was about 8 years old. That camera definitely went with me everywhere!! I mostly took pictures of my friends, family, and vaccation spots. I had that camera for about 8 years.

When I turned 16, I finally had saved up enough money to purchase my first digital camera: a Kodak Easyshare DX70 (if I remember correctly!). With this camera, my passion and love for photography grew. I would photograph still life and get my family and friends to pose for "photo shoots"!

About a year or later, I got an advanced digital point and shoot camera for Christmas: a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ18 (if I remember correctly!). It was with this camera that my love and passion for photography continued to grow. I decided that I wanted to enter into photography just as a hobby. I continued to shoot my friends, family, and still life, but I was also able to help with engagement, bridal, and wedding pictures during this time.

Finally, after much research, much saving, and almost buying the wrong camera, I purchased my first DSLR in June 2009: the Nikon D90. With this camera, I have shot everything from still life to weddings, and everything inbetween! :) In late 2009, the Lord changed my career path from cosmetology(where nothing was working out), to photography(where the doors were being flung wide open!). Having decided to become a professional part-time photographer, I enrolled at the New York Institute of Photography in January 2010.

I am very excited about this path the Lord has directed me to, and I am looking forward to becoming a better photographer (with training), and using my talents and gifts to bless other people and honor and glorify Him!
